The process

How insurance works with ABA

The insurance side of ABA can feel overwhelming. Here's what the process typically looks like — and how we help at each step.

1

Benefits Verification

You send us your insurance card (front and back). We contact your insurance to confirm ABA is a covered benefit and what your deductible, copay, or coinsurance looks like.

2

Diagnostic Report

Most plans require a current autism diagnosis (typically within the last 1–3 years) from a licensed professional. If you don't have one, we'll point you toward trusted local providers.

3

Assessment & Authorization

Our BCBA completes a comprehensive assessment. We submit that — along with a treatment plan — to your insurance for authorization. We handle this paperwork start to finish.

4

Therapy Begins

Once authorized, sessions start. Authorizations are typically renewed every 6 months, and we handle the renewal paperwork so there's no gap in your child's services.

Getting started

What to have ready

When you reach out, it helps to have these items — but don't worry if you don't. We'll guide you through gathering anything that's missing.

  • Front and back photos of your child's insurance card
  • Your child's date of birth and legal name
  • A recent autism diagnostic evaluation (if available)
  • Any existing IEP or school evaluation reports
  • A primary contact phone number and email
